Halloween Homework this week! Complete with your parents what your teacher should be for Halloween worksheet in your folder! Be creative and draw picture! Due by Thursday!

We will be doing a writing assessment in our journal for A Fox and A Kit this week.  Modeling will be done for children so they get more practice. 

Practice lines this week for our Saint Play on Friday October 28th in our classrooms. Thursday afternoon at 2:00 will be our dress rehearsal in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to come to the dress rehearsal! Letter was sent home Friday.  Bring costumes in a brown bag Thursday.  I will send home again the letter from October 5th as a reminder! We will present them throughout the day on Friday morning in our classrooms and finish up oral reports on Monday!

Sister Barbara Jude is looking for first grade saints to participate in the mass on October 30th. Please RSVP!

Halloween party on Friday afternoon.

New homework copybook is coming home for word work with high frequency /sight words! Practice for writing sentences, ABC order, and writing creative stories. There will not be a spelling test on these words! Words that we will be working on are: eat, four, five, her, this, too

Readables will be coming home in a clear folder to be read during the week for fluency practice! Books are due back by Friday and paper needs to be signed by parent along with the title of the stories. These books can be entered in your 40 book challenge copybooks too! Letter is in red folder !

Canned green beans and pea drive so bring in your cans!

Practice lines for Saint Play at home with your child! Make sure they are speaking loudly, and looking up at their audience! We will be practicing in class this week! Bring the play to school every day!!!

Parent teacher conferences will be held on December 8th for Kindergarten and First Grade. It was in the newsletter and I may have forgotten to tell you on Back to School Night. I will send home the link for Sign up Genius as we get closer. If this day doesn't work, we can always make other arrangements so don't worry!

Week of October 3rd-7th

Religion test tomorrow on chapter 2!

Reading test tomorrow on Pig in a Wig. Reread story and review sight words up, take, she, what.  New sight words this week will be blue, from, help, little, get use.They will not be tested on phonics portion of the test as phonics lessons are being replaced with Fundations. They will be reading a little passage, answering comprehension questions, and a writing based on the story. The kids will be using their books to answer the specific question. Spelling doesn't count but I'm looking for capital letters, punctuation, and sentences that make sense to me.

Mission money will be collected every Wednesday so have kids bring in any change that they have earned doing chores around the house!
